Uncalibrated wall tiles are used wherever an exact joint size of the tiles to be laid is not necessary. A non-calibrated wall tile usually has a bevel, which makes the already wide joint appear even wider. Uncalibrated wall tiles are available in many different variations, sizes and designs.
Wall tiles not calibrated
Regardless of whether it is a matter of redesigning or modernizing the bathroom, guest toilet, kitchen or some rooms in your own holiday apartment: You cannot do without wall tiles. Because the fact is that wall tiles not only have a lot to offer in terms of appearance, but also offer some advantages in terms of functionality and solidity. Especially if the wall tiles are not calibrated, the customer benefits in a special way. Because if they are not calibrated, the quality speaks for itself. But what does it mean if tiles are not calibrated?
Wall tiles not calibrated - many advantages for private and commercial premises
When the calibration of tiles is mentioned, it means that the corresponding parts are brought to a precise size. Basically, almost all tiles have a defined dimension, whereby it must be taken into account that the raw material itself is a natural substance. As a result, in turn, it can be assumed that at one point or another, certain deviations in terms of the dimensions may be expected. However, if the customer decides in advance to purchase calibrated tiles, dimensional deviations are of course excluded.
Wall tiles - not calibrated: advantages and disadvantages
In the course of the calibration process, the tiles are only cut to an exact size after firing, so that they not only have perfectly straight edges afterwards, but also dimensional deviations are almost completely excluded.
Wall tiles that are not calibrated therefore sometimes have minor or - depending on the provider or the qualitative nature - larger dimensional deviations, which in the end has a positive effect on the acquisition costs. When attaching wall tiles that have not been calibrated, additional sensitivity is certainly required to ensure that the greatest possible accuracy of fit is actually guaranteed. It should also be taken into account that the laying of the wall tiles, if they are not calibrated, may prove to be a little more laborious and time-consuming. Only experienced experts should lay wall tiles that are not calibrated, provided that absolute perfection is desired from the start.
If wall tiles are not calibrated, price savings are not always guaranteed ...
If wall tiles are not calibrated, experience has shown that they are a little cheaper to buy, but on the other hand, the specialist usually needs a little more time when laying the tiles. This additional effort is of course at the expense of the client, so that with a view to wall tiles that are not calibrated, it makes sense in any case to apply the red pencil in advance with the greatest precision. In contrast to wall tiles that are not calibrated, calibrated tiles offer a significant advantage in terms of the overall appearance in the respective room. The edge length, which is always exact, is always the same, so that the joint pattern is uniform and, as a result, the effort involved in fitting and, last but not least, the maintenance effort can be reduced many times over.
Basically, it is always a matter of discretion whether you choose wall tiles that are not calibrated. Modern wall tiles that are not calibrated can indeed be wonderful eye-catchers in spaces where maximum perfection is not necessarily required.
